Richmond Highway's seven and a half miles has been planned as six commercial areas surrounded by beautiful suburban neighborhoods.
North Gateway: This location close to the Capital Beltway features more than 500,000 square feet of office space and is an ideal location for businesses that need quick access to both the Pentagon and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. This location is midway between Washington, D.C. and Fort Belvoir. The Woodrow Wilson Bridge project is underway and almost $125 million in transportation improvements will be completed at the Richmond Highway interchange.
Groveton: New national restaurants have changed the face of Groveton (formerly Beacon Hill) from Tex-Mex to barbeque, Beacon Hill has restaurants to satisfy your taste buds. Government contractors and other office users keep the area busy day and night
Penn Daw: The commercial center features national retailers and quick access to Metro and has several parcels available for commercial and/or mixed-use development.
Hybla Valley: This rapidly developing area features large national retailers, specialty shops, car dealers, office supply stores and a wide array of both fast food and sit down restaurants. Merchants seeking to locate in Hybla Valley to take advantage of high sales volume has created a high demand for space.
South County: Central to this area is the Fairfax County Government’s South County office building. One of Washington area’s fastest growing businesses, Smitty’s Lumberteria, calls this area home. Many new homes have been built around this commercial hub.
Woodlawn: The commercial area closest to Fort Belvoir hosts both the Army Declassification as well as government contractors. In addition, this area is home to Woodlawn Plantation, a beautiful, stately home and property given by George Washington to his granddaughter.
