George Mason University in partnership with Supervisor Lusk and the Workforce Innovation Skills Hub (W.I.S.H) presents STEAMFEST 2022! There are over 40 free STEAM activities for students k-12.
Arcadia’s Fall Fun-Tacular

The Original Summer Picnic is a wonderful opportunity to gather the Richmond Highway Community. There will be live music, food trucks, local vendors, and more! All you need is a blanket or chair and we’ll provide the rest!
Economic Outlook Summit
The Economic Outlook brings together well-respected economists, researchers, and government leaders to discuss the most recent information on the local economy with an emphasis on workforce training along with detailed information on economic development in the greater Richmond Highway corridor.
The Mary Thonen Richmond Highway Beautification Awards
This annual award program is presented by the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation (SFDC) to recognize local establishments for their outstanding contributions to Richmond Highway beautification in the form of landscape improvements.
Highway Happy Hours
Highway Happy Hour was a virtual series of events that included interviews with local business owners and demonstrations by creatives on the corridor. SFDC hosted Highway Happy Hour during the summer months of 2020.
Opportunity Richmond Highway
This joint meeting with the Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce highlighted new economic development on Richmond Highway and provided updates from important industries for what they anticipate in the future.
