Fairfax County Public Schools

The Fairfax County Public School System is nationally recognized for its academic excellence. The school system encourages linkages for the students to the community.  Recently, the SFDC teamed with Mount Vernon High School to provide marketing students a real world experience in conducting a market analysis.

Colleges and Universities

The campuses of 17 colleges and universities are located in Fairfax County. More than 40 colleges and universities, offering a vast range of undergraduate and graduate-level degree programs, are located throughout the Washington area.  among the largest institutions of higher learning in the area are:

George Mason University - Nearly 30,000 students pursue George Mason University's 156 degree programs with an academic emphasis on high technology, public policy, and fine and performing arts.

Northern Virginia Community College - More than 64,000 students participate in 150 programs of study at six campuses throughout northern Virginia, including a medical education campus in Springfield.

Northern Virginia Center: University of Virginia and Virginia Tech - Graduate and undergraduate programs for working adults in a variety of fields are offered through the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech, joint campuses in Falls Church.

Northern Virginia Center: University of Virginia Darden School of Business - The Darden School, through a newly opened office in Reston, offers research and management education programs for area executives.

Old Dominion University– TELETECHNET - The ODU TELETECHNET program enables students to earn bachelors's and/or master's degrees via interactive distance learning technology.
